If you dive in straight away you can often take the mix in a totally different direction
Especially if you are new to it all
Start by listening to the mix a few times and take notes on anything that is standing out or can be improved
Once you’ve got a good understanding of the mix, you can then make some adjustments and listen again after.
This process may feel longer but by ticking things off your notebook
In time, it will make things so much easier to hear the stuff that needs adjusting in the mix
